Remember:

Prosecution witnesses support the idea that Pat Peterson is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and intentionally harmed Kerry Doyle by using water as a deadly weapon.

Defense witnesses only need to express that Pat is probably not guilty and was in fact upholding tradition and helping Kerry prepare for the rigors of varsity soccer.

In the case of Vickers v. Hearst the plaintiff, Terry Vickers, needed to prove with a preponderance of evidence that Sandy Hearst’s negligence was the reason for his accident with Dana Ivy.
